  • Yes, many health funds cover a scale and clean under general dental benefits. Check with your provider to confirm your coverage.

  • Most people find the procedure comfortable, especially with the AIRFLOW Dental Spa technology which uses warm water and is very gentle on gums. If your gums are inflamed or there is a lot of tartar build up you may feel some discomfort. If you’re concerned please get in touch - numbing gels and local anaesthetic may be an option for you.

  • A standard scale and clean appointment at Floss is 60min. This is because I am extremely thorough, I want to make sure the experience is a positive one, and I make sure to spend time creating a treatment and oral care routine that’s individual to you.

  • Most adults should have a scale and clean between 6 and 12 monthly. Though more frequent visits may be advised if you have gum disease or other oral health concerns.
